Hello friends,
Welcome to virgo season. May you guide your dreams from the sky down towards the earth and may you do so with playfulness in your heart.
My brain can feel a bit chaotic in these summer months, or also just in different phases of life. A practice that I find supportive simultaneously for calming but also for focus is mantra meditations. Repeating a mantra silently in the mind for multiple minutes can often quiet the typical swirling world of thoughts and ease the nervous system into a more focused rhythm.
One of the eight limbs of yoga is Dharana, translating to concentration. Mantras are also an opportunity to strengthen this muscle of concentration. I offer you a guided practice below with the mantra so hum… the Hindu mantra translated as I am that or I am pure awareness. Some also think of it as I am one with the universe or I am connected to all.
I find this mantra becomes a blurring of lines between our physical and that which is beyond… a way to melt into the oneness of all energies and to energize ourselves with something much greater than ourselves. I invite you to try it out for yourself if you feel called.
Make yourself comfortable in a seated position anywhere that you will not be disturbed for the next 10 minutes. Using headphones will result in a better experience.
May your day today be filled with clarity and miracles.
With love,
Erin
